Welcome to the Ottawa Neighbourhood Watch Executive Committee

Ottawa Neighbourhood Watch / Surveillance de quartier d'Ottawa The Neighbourhood Watch Program is a community-driven crime prevention and community mobilization program supported by the Ottawa Police Service for over 25 years. It aims to get citizens involved in discouraging and preventing crime at the neighbourhood level.

After a citywide renewal of the Neighbourhood Watch Program, the Ottawa Neighbourhood Watch Executive Committee (ONWEC) was officially launched on June 24, 2002 at City Hall. ONWEC is made up of police personnel, Neighbourhood Watch coordinators, and a Community Development representative. ONWEC was established to represent all Neighbourhood Watches in Ottawa, and to be responsible for addressing their collective interests to the Ottawa Police Service, the Police Services Board, the municipal government and the public.

ONWEC's objective is to oversee the Ottawa Neighbourhood Watch Program and encourage citywide participation in the program.
